About Us

Masiqhame Trading 81 CC trading as Kim’s Training Academy (KTA) being 100% black, jointly owned male and female company is a level 3 contributor to Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE). The company qualifies for tenders and training contracts under the Previously Disadvantaged Individuals (PDI) clauses of procurement legislation.

Kim’s Training Academy (KTA) specializes in providing welding and mechanical related training. KTA is widely recognized as a “South African Welding School of Choice.”

Based in the South Durban Basin, KTA enjoys a longstanding partnership with the community and engineering sector. Within this space KTA equips the community and the labour force with skills to function and serve the industry that impacts their lives. This we view as a strategic partnership, one of mutual benefit to all stakeholders.

Quality Policy Statement

The Directors of Masiqhame Trading 81 CC are committed to a policy of total quality and excellence in everything we do. We shall ensure that this policy as well as ISO 9001 based quality systems are reviewed on a regular basis for continual improvement and that this is understood, accepted, implemented, and maintained throughout the organization.

Masiqhame Trading 81 CC shall provide the best training. We will strive to satisfy all learners and clients by being consistent and continually improving our Quality Management System (QMS).
In fulfillment of this policy Masiqhame Trading 81 CC shall ensure that training is provided to meet their intended purpose and performance criteria in accordance with industry requirements.

All courses offered will be quality assured by Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO); the Manufacturing and Engineering Industries and Related Services Sector Education Training Authorities (MERSETA); Learner, Education, Training and Quality Assurance (LETQA) division. Courses will therefore fall within the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and in accordance with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) requirements.

 The South Durban Basin, where we are located, comprises of heavy industry close to residential areas. The area is considered the economic hub of KwaZulu-Natal, contributing substantially to its GDP. Key industries include two oil refineries, a paper and pulp plant, sugar refinery, chemical industries, the busiest port in Africa and various medium to smaller industry.
